Sun, sand, water, walking and a fast Race Track!

Went and had a look at the other side of the island today - the little villages of Rhyll and Newhaven, and Cape Woolamai.

Cape Woolamai and the Woolamai Beach were beautiful! The surf was rolling in from Bass Strait today! Blue sky, green water, rolling waves and golden sand that ran for miles! Stunning!

Cape Woolamai is Phillip Island's highest point. We didn't take the walking tracks on the Cape - the beach was too inviting, so we walked up to the area where the largest colony of Short-tailed Shearwaters have their rookery on the cliffs. Very exhilarating exercise!

To top off another beaut day a feast of prawns made Pete a very happy man!!!!

Rhyll- a very picturesque fishing hamlet
Woolamai! What a beach!
Famous for its surf.....!
.....as well as its wildlife, birds and walks!

Great hiking!
Sand, sea, surf  and dunes for as far as you could see each way
Surfs up!
The Pinnacles

There were big sets rolling in from Bass Strait and the surfers where in their element!

And this fellow, on his "goat boat" as Pete called it,  was having a ball!!!
Oops!!!!!!
Looking across Bass Strait to Pyramid Rock on the rugged southern coastline of Phillip Is
Looking from Woolamai Beach to The Colannades, Surf Beach and Sunderland Bay
The Surf Club and Cafe at Woolamai - nestled in the dunes
Off for our walk along the beach to the Rookery
On our way back - this beach is endless!
Oh what perfect weather!

The marina at the village of Seahaven
Part of the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit at Ventor
Very nice set up!
You can pay to ride around the track!
There were a few having a great time on their motorbikes!
Prawns with a view!  :)
Love our backyard!
The locals certainly love their penguins - and I can't blame them! ;)
Still so excited about seeing those amazing Little Penguins!
AND they will do it all over again tonight, and tomorrow night, and ..................
Sat on the beach tonight and watched the birds fishing while waiting for the sunset
Think it's a short-tailed Shearwater!?

French Island across Western Port
Sunset didn't disappoint!

As Peter said "Phillip Island has been a nice little interlude!"  Yes! Most enjoyable!
