Family Fun

November, 2011

With our wonderful 3 months housesitting duties over - loved every minute of it! Sunshine Beach/ Noosa is such a beautiful place to live! - and Luke and Amanda back in Aussie and settled into their lovely new home in Noosa, we set course south, on a much looked forward to, months road trip to visit family and friends.

First stop was Brisbane to see Jac and Glenn,  then the Gold Coast to see Di and Graham and then onto Coffs Harbour to see Melva and Ray. From there we headed to Port Macquarie to visit Jack and Jean, as well as cheer Luke on in the 70.3 Port Macquarie Ironman.  Jacque was also debuting the new SOAS line - triathlon clothes for women designed by women - at the Triathlon Expo. Fanastic gear! We had a great catch up with our friends Sue and Gerry who came across from Wingham for the weekend - good fun and times! On race day we were also very pleased to see and catch up with other friends from Wingham High School who were in Port for the day - Nick and Ronda, Murray and Mary - brought back great, happy and fond memories of our many years in Wingham and Taree were we lived, taught and raised Luke and Jacqueline.

Not having fully recovered from IM Hawaii, Luke wisely decided to call the race a day after the first bike lap  - IM Busselton,WA is coming up in a months time which he is focussing on at the moment. We are looking forward to cheering him on there!

SOAS was a real hit amongst the women triathletes, business boomed and 20% of the woman's field on the day sported and flaunted their great looking kits out on the course!  They looked GOOD! and  many reported back how they loved their new kits and how comfortable they were racing in them. A great success for the girls!

We loved spending time with our parents. We marvel how well  they look and even though they have their health challenges they get out and enjoy life! Melva and Ray had just returned from a great coach tour to Dubbo which they thoroughly enjoyed, and Dad and Jean were looking forward to a couple of weeks holidaying in Sydney and visiting family and friends.  I was lucky enough to join Dad and Jean and their friends for some fun at Bingo  - got to work hard following the quick number calls! - good for the mind! Alas I had no "bingoes" but I had a great time! Pete, with his handyman skills, painted Melva and Ray's bathroom.
