The First Anniversary 12/10/2011!

Day 26 and 27  Hawaii, Kona, Tues 11/10/2011 and Wednesday 12/10/ 2011

With the successful big World Champs event over for another year,  Kona settled back into its very appealing relaxed, layback mode and so have we!

It was a fantastic, exciting and successful week - one we enjoyed immensely! We'll be back to do it all over again next year! Who's coming to????!!!!!!

Now - Recovery time! Walks; Lava Java for coffee and sunsets (without the thronging masses of athletes!); swimming and snorkelling; socialising and dining with friends who are still here enjoying Kona and the Big island.

And of course the all important day for Luke and Amanda on the 12th October 2010 - their wedding day! Their first anniversary here on the island of Kona today! - very special!
It was lovely to share breakfast with Luke and Amanda at Lava Java on their 1st Wedding Anniversary before we put them on their plane to San Francisco. Home and Noosa for them next week!

Happy Anniversary!
Many great memories  of the fabulous time we had celebrating on their special day!

Kona relaxes again after the hustle and bustle of Ironman!

K-Swiss gone!
The Expo gone!

All the parks are back to normal!
Of course things will "liven" up again in a few weeks time on the Big Island as Halloween will be celebrated! The stores are swamped with halloween paraphernalia! Makes for interesting viewing !  TOTALLY GHOUL!

Greetings!!!

Had a great night Tuesday night and enjoyed a meal and a wine at Nev and Carol's at their unit in The Sea Village - lovely dining on their balcony overlooking the sea! We decided that it was time we did some snorkelling and so we planned an afternoon at Turtle Beach.

Always love the snorkelling at Turtle Beach!  And the turtles didn't disappoint - three were there feeding on the algae on the rocks by the shore!

High tide - great for snorkelling on the reef!
The water  was amazing! So warm and clear!

Moody sky today!

Love the salt and pepper sand here! and of course the swaying palm trees!
Carol, Peter and Nev.
A relaxing and enjoyable afternoon!
Three turtles arrived and grazed on the rocks.
Fascinating to watch!

Hello! Sorry - aloha!

Another local bird - has a bright red head.
Have been trying to get a shot of one the whole 4 weeks we've been here!
Today was the day - one day before we leave! Yeah!
Setting up for the night in the Beach Pavilion at Turtle Beach!
Waterfront apartment!

We enjoyed a farewell drink and dinner with Guy and Kate at The Royal Kona Hotel before they head back to Boise tomorrow. Another good evening!
