All action and focus for the race!

Wednesday 18/05/2011, Thursday 19/05/2011

Picked Luke and Amanda up at the airport this morning and headed to The Woodlands. After settling into their accommodation and getting their bikes and gear organised we headed out for a bite to eat, visited the expo where Luke did his Registration and then headed to the pool for them to do their swim sessions for the day. Pete and I enjoyed a little pool side kip while they ploughed out their sessions! Riding and running was the rest of the agenda for the today - for Luke and Amanda of course! Pete and I did some more resting! lol

The Expo is in full swing and very busy!

Hubbell and Hudson -  an amazing wholefoods food and products store in The Woodlands
What a find! Great healthy lunches and snacks !
Wish we had it at home!
The Market Square was alive with music and excited people this evening, including me, Pete and our special friends from Bend, Betty and Tom Pickel. We met Betty and Tom in Hawaii a few years ago through Luke and Amanda's good American mates, Linsey and Chris Corbin - Linsey being their very talented daughter. Linsey is also racing on the weekend in the Women's Professional race and is a favourite! We love meeting up with Betty and Tom because we always have a blast! We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at  Benny Bahama's and talked and talked triathlon and travel - great company and a great evening! We are all excited and looking forward to cheering Linsey and Luke on in the race on Saturday!
The live band belting out their music and the excited crowd enjoying it!
IronmanTriathlon fever!
Lots to catch up on with Betty and Tom!
Listening to the band and talking, talking, while waiting for our table at Tommy Bahama's
More people in the park enjoying the pre-trithlon fun mood and atmosphere!
The Woodlands community has certainly embraced the race -
it is the inaugural IM in Texas, and as the mayor said, the town is "electric"!
A very romantically lit verandah at Tommy's!
They had to bring us little torches so we could read the menu! -
all part of the fun evening!
