Coffee is the signature product of Kona.......who hasn't heard of "Kona Coffee"!
Along 20 miles of scenic country roads on the side of the the moody, majestic volcano Hualalai, elevation 8,275, and backdrop to Kailua-Kona, there are 600 specialty coffee farms, some coffee mills and roasters, coffee retail outlets and coffee museums. A great day of touring and tasting!

Coffee, coffee everywhere!........................lots to drink!

Two very popular coffee spots in town - Lava Java and Kope Lani

Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation is the largest organic farm in the USA

Followed by sunset on the lanai.............
Great rocking chair!

We are looking forward to Saturday as we are doing a trip to the top of Mauna Kea to view the sunset and the northern hemisphere skies from the Observatory which graces its peak - an 8.5 hour experience in a 4 wheel drive to get there and rugged up in Parkers and gloves at the top! Until then - Aloha!
