And the heavens opened - its raining in Kona! The gardens are loving it!

Lovely morning and we enjoyed our swimming but come afternoon the heavens opened. When it rains in Kona it buckets down! Makes it even more humid!

Took advantage of the rain and really relaxed and enjoyed our accommodation - we even snuck an afternoon nap - allowed on holidays aren't they!?

Ventured out at sunset for a walk in the rain.

All the beautiful gardens and flowers loved the drenching!  The amazing tropical gardens, plants and flowers, and their colours and perfumes, are synonymous with Hawaii!

Love the walk to our unit through the lush and colourful gardens

The variety of tropical flowers at the local market is amazing. Love browsing and enjoying their perfumes.

The hawaiian Leis made from beautiful fresh tropical flowers are always available in the local markets.
They are an important part of the Hawaiian culture - it is a symbol of affection.

Even the artificial ones available at the shops as souvenirs look real

There are two beautiful Botanical Gardens on the Big Island

The bars and restaurants were popular this afternoon - great spots to take refuge from the downpour!
A very watery sunset! But still lovely!
