A wonderful Western Australia Whirl! - first port of call, IMWA Busselton!

December, 2011

On our return from Sydney, after a great time visiting family and friends - so good to see them all -  we boarded a plane bound for Perth, WA. We had a great visit with Lois (Amanda's mum) and John and headed down to Busselton with them to cheer Luke on in IM Western Australia. We stayed with Lois and John's good friends Wendy and Brian whose hospitality was really appreciated - fun and good times!
Brian and Wendy's lovely home.
We're just returning from a wander around the neighbourhood nestled on Vasse Estuary - lovely!
Thanks for your hospitality!
IMWA is always a great spectator race and in such a beautiful setting. Besides Luke, we had lots of athlete's to cheer along - Guy (who Pete coaches), his partner Kate (last years' winner), Courtney (who shared a unit with us in Hawaii 2011 and was the male winner last year), Hillary and Maik all the way from the USA and good friends with Amanda and Luke, and Michelle from Darwin. It was a busy but most enjoyable day cheering them all along! It was a hard day at the office for the athletes, for various reasons, but all finished this gruelling race - great admiration for them all! Ironman is a tough endurance sport! You never know what is going to be thrown at you on the day - no matter how fit you are!
