The Blue Mountains - Katoomba

A fabulous day of "highs" - cheering Race Pace athlete Brandon Copeland on to 2nd place at the NSW All Schools Triathlon at Penrith; climbing into the Blue Mountains; experiencing a sunny day; riding the Cable Car, Scenic Railway and Skyway in the Jamison Valley, Katoomba; and having the privilege to witness the Australian Lyrebird in full action!

The Skyway  - 270m above the valley floor

Mount Solitary

Hiking to the Katoomba Falls

The beautiful cascade steps at the top of the falls

A skink basking on the rocks

The creek heading for the big fall to the valley floor

Looking at the valley floor from the Skyway suspended 270m above

Stunning!

The Scenic Railway - so scary we went on it three times!

All aboard - bags front seat!!!

The Cliff hanger the best!

Taking on the Cliff hanger right at the front! Daredevils!

The Scenic Railway has an interesting history - what courage the men had to work the coal mine in this valley!

The bushwalk along the informative interpretative boardwalks on the valley floor ..........

AND we were privileged to witness the superb Lyrebird! Incredible! Had us mesmerised!

Awesome!

Spectacularly perched on the escarpment at Echo Point with an incredible view of the Jamison Valley

Looking across to Scenic World from Echo Point

There's the drop on the Scenic railway - just a bit steep - 52 degrees and the steepest in the world!

The iconic Three Sisters -  Their names are Meehni (922 m), Wimlah (918 m), and Gunnedoo (906 m).
