A relaxing day visiting TrenthamEstate on the Murray River.

A relaxing day today. Enjoyed a lazy morning and then a drive to Trentham Estate this afternoon. We crossed the Murray into NSW and drove through the towns of Buronga, Gol Gol - Gateway to the Outback!, Trentham Cliffs and onto the lovely winery nestled on the banks of the Murray - very picturesque! Lovely restaurant ! You can call in on your houseboat!

Almost half a century ago, the first vines were planted at Trenton Cliffs. Jack Murphy and his family   then established Trentham Estate. The vineyard flourished in the rich red loam over limestone soils, watered from the magnificent Murray. Anthony Murphy is the winemaker. Very nice! Tasted some new varieties Vermentino,Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Petit Verdot and Nebbiolo.

Lovely landscaped entrance and grounds - the autumn leaves and roses were beautiful

Wow!

Lovely lawns and River Red Gums roll down to the river
The Winery
