On top of the world!!! Loving it!!!

Another great day bushwalking and hiking in the Grampians!
We headed back into the north part of the Park this morning and did a very pleasant bush walk to the Beehive Falls at Roses Gap.
We came back along the Roses Gap Rd to Wartook, stopping at Troopers Creek Campground for lunch, and then back to Halls Gap. A very picturesque circuit!
Still feeling adventurous we decided to walk to Mt William Lookout - the highest point in the Grampians at 1167m.
From the valley floor we climbed 10 kms to the car park and then it is another 2 kms walk to the top - straight up! - very steep! Lucky it was on bitumen surface which made it a bit easier. The walk is an access road for the communication stations at the top. It was exhilarating and the views spectacular. Loved the bush, trees, rock formations, flowers, birds and views -hard, but a sensational walk!
Earnt our happy hour today! :)

WALK TO BEEHIVE FALLS, ROSES GAP

Never seen these type of pine trees before - loved how perfectly straight
they were at the bottom of the foliage - naturally!
Heading towards the Falls and Briggs Bluff
Couldn't continue from the Falls to the Bluff because of washouts caused by the recent rains
Incredible colours in the rocks
Lovely spot to sit at the bottom of the Falls .
Natures pretty pattern!

Still contemplating!
Pretty Beehive Falls

Pete doing a bit of tacking!!!

Checking the heart rate!
Stunning views! Still going up! ...
.....and up
.....and up!

Made it to 1167m's!
The highest peak in the Grampians.
Don't know how Major Mitchell did it without a bitumen road to help him!
Gosh they were tough!!!!
Amazing views!

Other mountains we could see 360 degrees

Looking towards Ararat

Nice property

Back down we go............
Views heading back down......was much easier and we could appreciate the views, the bush, trees, birds, and
rock sculptures  a lot more - no huffing and puffing :)

There was evidence on the mountain that a fire had been through -
here's the story....
