The Mornington Peninsula

Today we drove down the lovely Mornington Peninsula from Frankston. We passed through Mt Eliza, Mount Martha, Mornington, Blairgowrie, Rosebud, Rye, Sorrento, and finally Portsea on the tip of the Peninsula.

It was a wild and windy day today, so both the sea and the bay were rocking and rolling! We've swapped between sun and blue sky, to clouds and rain, and as I write a hail storm has just hit!

Portsea Beach (Bass Strait side) - beautiful in its wildness!
Harold Holt took a swim on a day like this!
Had a bouffant hairdo and freshly scrubbed skin (sand blasted!) after being on this lookout! lol
Spectacular coastline

London Bridge Beach in Point Nepean National Park

The Bay even had waves today!
Couldn't walk onto the Pier because the waves were crashing over it

The Portsea Beach (Bay side)
They have it sand bagged to stop the erosion
The lovely Portsea Hotel and grounds overlooking Port Phillip Bay

Sorrento
As the first British settlement in Victoria 1803 it has many
lovely old limestone buildings
Sorrento's picturesque Bay
Crystal clear water
A protected spot today but no one braving the water!

Lots of white horses out there today!
