BULA!

Day 1 - 12/09/2011 Novotel, Nadi, Fiji

Bula!

We are off again on another travel adventure! 

We are heading for Kona, Hawaii, readying for the Ironman World Championships on  8th October. We are really looking forward to enjoying a months holiday there this year, highlighted by cheering Luke along in his big race of the year! I’ll be able to overdose on the snorkeling this year - yeah!!! and we can really soak up the Hawaiian lifestyle, and “Hawaiian time”!

We decided to take a pleasant detour and stopover in Fiji on our way to the Big Island this year.  Great little airline Pacific Air (Qantas affiliated) - it provides an excellent  Brisbane - Hawaii service, stopping over in Fiji. Hence our 4 day/ 3night escape! We’ll continue on to kona on Friday!

So, after a midnight departure from Brisbane and a minuscule sleep we stepped off the plane to a beautiful “moon set” and  “sunrise”, with the Sleeping Giant waking up in the background to watch over his lovely island! When we came to Fiji last time I don’t remember the mountains - then again it was our honeymoon! 

After a welcoming song from the locals and many many “Bulas” as we wandered out of the airport terminal, the Novotel courtesy shuttle whipped us off to our lovely accommodation   where we enjoyed a great buffet breakfast on the  restaurant deck overlooking the swimming pool and golf course!  A great start to our 4 days here! 

Today is going to be all about resting and relaxing and lapping up this beautiful scenery.
