After our great time at Graceland we crossed the Mississippi River into West Memphis and into the state of Arkansas. Five hours we were across Arkansas on H40 and H30. While the roads were open and safe, and the sun came out after a couple of days cold, cloudy weather all the rivers right across the state were flooded - some very badly!

We stopped at Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, for a very late afternoon snack and a stretch of the legs. Arkansas is the territory of the former president, Bill Clinton - he was born in Hope and lived in Hot Springs, not far from Little Rock.

Another bit of Pete trivia - Benton, which we passed through, and also just outside Little Rock, is where the huge department and food chain store Walmart had its origins.
Ran out of daylight at Marshall in Texas so bedded down for the night. On to Houston tomorrow!
