We are making the most if this lovely winter weather on the Coral Coast!
Enjoyed a drive through the flourishing cane and veggie fields - destination one: Elliot Heads; destination two: Innes Park. Love exploring new places and these pockets of coastal loveliness didn't disappoint!
WALK TWO
The wide mouth of the Elliot River |
Picturesque! |
This beachside kiosk was the only shop we could find in Elliot Heads a |
The walkway starts at the mouth of the river and Elliot Heads Beach. We really enjoyed this lovely stretch of coastline .......................... |
The Caravan Park has a prime position close to the river and the beach |
Elliot Heads Beach |
The Surf Club is hibernating for winter |
Looking across the beach to the river mouth |
The Memorial Park and Submarine Lookout |
The tide was coming in and the fishermen were beginning to line the banks of the river mouth |
Zucchinis! |
Coral Cove's lovely golf course. The greens have been strategically built into the coastal township providing a unique challenge for golfers. |
WALK THREE
The lovely Innes Park Reserve |
Innes Park Beach at the mouth of Palmers Creek |
The importance of the marine habitats of the ocean, Palmers Creek and the Coral Cove Environmental Reserve is emphasised in the interpretive display. |
Overlooking Barolin Point |
Barolin Rocks - one of Queensland's most accessible shore diving sites. Also plenty of reef fish and coral for snorkelers |
The Coral Cove Golf Course runs down to the sea - what a hole with the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop! No good for people with a left hook! |
This hole is the longest in Australia at 635m Guess this lovely seat is so you can rest before you tackle the hole, or to take a breather between the balls you are hooking into the ocean :) |
Certainly a beautiful view! |
Another great afternoon and highly recommended walks if you visit the beautiful Coral Coast.
